Frequently Asked Questions
New to Club Volleyball? Interested in playing club volleyball for the first time?
We have put together more information than you can imagine to help get you on your way to joining the Club Volleyball world.
What is Club Volleyball?
Also known as Juniors or Travel volleyball, Club volleyball is a nationwide highly competitive sport dedicated to giving student athletes across the country the ability to participate and excel in volleyball against other players their same age, both regionally and nationally. Club volleyball offers the most advanced and competitive youth volleyball experience.
Many girls on high school and middle school teams play club volleyball. Club teams are available for girls starting with Elementary School (U11, U12) going through Middle School (U13, U14) and High School (U15, U16, U17, U18).
When are tryouts?
Tryouts for Travel Volleyball typically take place in October.
As soon as the tryout date and times have been determined, they will be posted on the website and our social media.
Please Note the Following:
- USAV Tryout Membership - Any player who is coming to tryouts and does not have a current USAV membership from the 2024-2025 season will need to take out a tryout membership. Here is the link for the tryout 2025 -https://memberships.sportsengine.com/buy/11f03d72-041c-1e98-b983-02e0d1748519 https://memberships.sportsengine.com/buy/11f03d72-041c-1e98-b983-02e0d1748519

Understanding the Investment in Club Volleyball:
At 360 Sports Academy, we believe in complete transparency. The cost of club volleyball can vary significantly between organizations, and we want to help you understand what you're investing in.
While some clubs may not post their fees publicly, we are committed to being upfront. Our club fees are clearly communicated before tryouts and cover a comprehensive package designed for athlete development.
What is the typical cost range?
Club volleyball fees in our region generally range from $500 to over $4,000 per season. This wide variance is due to several factors, which we’ve broken down below.
What is
NOT
included in most club fees?
It's crucial to budget for these additional expenses, which are standard across all clubs:
- Travel & Hotels: Families are responsible for their own transportation and lodging for tournaments. Costs can vary greatly (e.g., a regional event may cost $125/night, while a national event in a major city can be $375/night).
- Player Registrations: All athletes must be registered with USA Volleyball and often with AAU. These are separate, mandatory fees paid directly to the governing bodies.
- Incidental Travel Costs: Meals and other travel expenses for players and parents are not included.
Why Such a Variance in Cost? Breaking Down the Club Fee
A club fee is an investment in your athlete's experience, coaching, and facilities. Here’s what differentiates a budget club from a premium one:
1. Facility & Gym Time
This is often the largest expense for any club. High-quality, consistent court time in a well-maintained facility is essential for athlete development. We secure prime-time hours at top-tier venues to ensure our teams have the best environment to train.
2. Coaching Expertise
The caliber of coaching directly impacts cost. At 360 Sports Academy, we invest in experienced, professional coaches and continuous training. Our technical directors ensure a standardized, high-level curriculum across all teams, elevating every player's experience.
3. Operational Structure
Larger clubs like ours employ full-time administrative staff to handle logistics, communication, and operations, ensuring a seamless experience for our families. This structured support is a critical component of our club fee.
4. Tournament Schedule
The number, location, and level of tournaments entered significantly affect cost. A schedule filled with local, one-day events costs far less than one featuring premier multi-day travel tournaments that require coach travel, accommodations, and higher entry fees. We design our tournament schedules to provide appropriate competitive opportunities for each team level.
5. Uniforms & Gear
Packages vary widely. Some clubs provide only basic jerseys, while others—like 360 Sports Academy—offer complete, high-quality gear packages (e.g., jerseys, spandex, warm-ups, backpack) from premium suppliers. We include details of our inclusive gear package in our season pricing.
6. Additional Training Value
Many clubs charge extra for value-added services. Our philosophy is to build a complete development program into our fees, which includes:
- Strength & Conditioning: Mandatory sessions led by certified trainers.
- Skills Clinics: Supplemental training focused on specific position skills.
- College Recruiting Support: Guidance for athletes looking to play at the next level.
The 360 Sports Academy Difference
We encourage you to look beyond the bottom line and compare the entire package. When evaluating clubs, consider the value you receive for your investment:
- Quality of facilities and practice hours.
- Experience and qualifications of the coaching staff.
- Inclusivity of the uniform and gear package.
- The level and number of tournaments scheduled.
- The added value of strength training, clinics, and administrative support.
Our goal is to provide exceptional value through professional coaching, top-notch facilities, and a comprehensive support system—all designed to help your athlete grow as a player and a person.
